Barefoot Bay Commandant John Anderson, Detachment 918 was able to reserve the Barefoot Bay Building “D” for our meeting. (same as last year) . The address is 1225 Barefoot Boulevard, Barefoot Bay, FL. 32976. Detachment 918 will provide a sandwich & drink lunch for $5 each starting at 1200. The meeting will directly follow at 1300.
Seating / tables can accommodate up to 36 people plus head table. There are five Detachments in District 8. That would allow for each Commandant to invite 5 detachment members and themselves. Total of 6 bodies.
Please be prepared to give a short report about what your Detachment has been up to in 2017 and what your plans are in 2018 to help your Detachments move forward.
Please send me a head count from your Detachment.
Uniform of the day will be blue trousers, white shirt.
District Vice Cmdt Bob Leon and Assistant Vice Cmdt Mike Ambrosino presided at a district wide meeting on January 23, 2016. Attending the meeting were Department Commandant Bill Cona, Sr. Vice Cmdt Ron Ashley, Jr. Past Cmdt Lou Calleja and Adjutant Andy Smith. Southeast National Vice Cmdt Jim Hackbarth attended and report on the state of the Division. All Detachments in the District were represented by there Commandants and some of their staff.

A hardy thank you to Barefoot Bay Det 918 for hosting a great meeting and a special thank you to Auxiliary President Gayle Heath and her members for providing food and beverages.
During yesterday's Flag Day Ceremony observance at our Elks Lodge 1870, the attached 'group' photos were taken by R J (Rhoda Javier), and others of the ceremony in progress preceding the group photos by Robin Barker.
Marine Sgt. Eugene "Tim" Shawaryn, a WWII Marine and MCL member (Red blazer) was the Stuart Parade's 'Grand Marshal' .
Several of our members took park in the outstanding indoor Picnic hosted by our Elk's Lodge at 1200.
It was a wonderful day to honor our fallen; and our Detachment's marching contingent certainly did lend a lot to Stuart's Memorial Day observances.
